Arms and explosives recovered from hideout in J&K

Security forces have smashed a hideout and seized a consignment of arms and explosives from near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
    
Acting on specific information, a joint team of army and police yesterday launched a search operation and recovered a consignment of 4 AK rifles, 3 pistols and around 3.5 kilos of RDX from a hideout in Balakote sector of Mendhar Tehsil, they said.
    
Following the recoveries last night, troops of 13 Dogra Rifles and police have launched a massive search operation in Balakote area to ensure that no militant had entered into this side, they added.
    
Search operations have been intensified this morning, they said, adding the consignment appeared to have been kept for the infiltrating militants.
    
Reports, however, indicated that the militants had not been able to infiltrate into this side.
