Scottish singer Annie Lennox has launched a celebrity charity store in London. The 55-year-old artist has inked a deal with Oxfam to open the shop in the famous departmental store Selfridges.

The shop will have clothes and several other items that are donated by celebrities, reports the Daily Star. The earnings will be used to fund the women projects of Oxfam in countries such as Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka.

"More than two thirds of the world's poorest people are women, yet they struggle to be heard. We saw an opportunity to bring together influential women with valuable skills and contacts to try and make a difference to their lives," says Jane Shepherdson, boss of fashion brand Whistles, who is helping launch the project.
