Social activist Anna Hazare will take part in an anti-graft rally in Guwahati on Friday along with co-activists Kiran Bedi, Swami Agnivesh and Arvind Kejriwal.

The rally is being organized by farmers’ body Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS).

“He (Hazare) will take part in a road march before addressing the public rally,” KMSS leader Akhil Medhi told DNA. Bedi, Agnivesh and Kejriwal will also take part in the  rally, Medhi said.

“We want value-based politics and a corruption-free Assam. We won’t rest till we succeed in our mission,” he added.
Initially, the rally was planned on May 3. It had to be postponed owing to Hazare’s illness.

The KMSS, led by RTI activist Akhil Gogoi, has been vocal on the issue of corruption for a long time. It organised a series of rallies across Assam in the run upto the polls and asked people to reject ‘corrupt’ Congress. The KMSS was aggressive especially on the alleged scam of Rs1000 crore in an autonomous district council.

The RTI activist shot to fame by going all out against Congress on the issue of graft and ‘exposing’ the unaccounted assets of an influential minister in the state.

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi had described the RTI activist as a “political man in the garb of a social activist”. He alleged that the RTI activist was selective in his “so-called” crusade against corruption as he had a “hidden political agenda”.
