Angadia firm robbed of Rs26 lakhs in Vyara

In a heist that lasted just 10 minutes, two unidentified men on Saturday looted Rs26.71 lakh from an Angadia office in Vyara. Local police are already on the lookout for the culprits.

At 1pm on Saturday, two men posing as customers came to Patel Arvind Kantilal & Co in City Mall Complex, placed a gun on the forehead of Umedsinh Vaghela, owner of the shop and asked him to handover keys of the shop cupboard. At the same time, two other looters barged into the office. They thrashed Vaghela and locked him in a room in the office. With help of keys, they opened the cupboard and took away cash Rs26.71 lakh kept inside. By 1.11 pm, they were out of the Angadia office.

Vaghela, after sometime, managed to free himself and immediately came out of the shop. He promptly called Vyara police who were soon at the spot and started investigations. They, however, couldn’t collect any major evidences from the shop.

In course of investigation by the police, Vaghela said that there were five looters. While four of them robbed the premises, their accomplice stood guard outside the shop. They all were aged between 25 and 30 and spoke in Hindi.

Vyara cops have sent out teams to trace the looters, but were unable to locate them till late evening. A case has been lodged  and investigation is going on.
