Amarnath Pilgrims to enjoy mobile connectivity during yatra

BSNL is working out a detailed plan of action for timely providing the necessary facilities for Amarnath pilgrims by installing infrastructure in this direction.

With annual Amarnath yatra to start from July, Pilgrims visiting cave shrine of Lord Shiva in South Kashmir Himalayas will now enjoy the mobile connectivity enroute and at shrine this year.
       
Amarnath Cave shrine and enroute would now have mobile connectivity and landline service via Pahalgam and Baltal routes in Kashmir valley during this year annual pilgrimage, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) sources said today.
       
They further said that these facilities would be provided by the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) during Amarnath yatra along both Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the cave shrine for the convenience of pilgrims.
       
BSNL is working out a detailed plan of action for timely providing the necessary facilities for Amarnath pilgrims by installing infrastructure in this direction.
       
The decision to provide mobile facilities to pilgrims was taken at a high level meeting under chairmanship of Union telecom secretary, PJ Thomas and board officials in New Delhi in January this year.
