Ahmedabad's LD Engineering asks pupils to get research papers published

Authorities feel that if student's research work is published in magazines of colleges of at least two other universities, it will encourage the students to take up further studies and will also certify their research work.

As a part of this initiative, one of the students of ME (Mechanical Engineering) of LD Engineering, Bakul Patel, has already been credited with his papers getting published in two college journals. His paper titled, Model Analysis to evaluate the Dynamics Investigation of Steel and CI Crankshaft has been published in the journals of Amrutvahini College of Engineering, Pune and Lakshmi Narain College of Technology, Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking about his research paper, Bakul Patel said, "Through this paper I have tried to explain crankshaft, for which a computer data analysis report needs to be created first, which if not understood then can be established through model updating."

Patel explained that crankshaft is the rod behind the piston of a car and in his research paper he has created a manual model update for the same, which is then compared with computer model data.

"It is a process of study, which has to be done manually to see the movement of crankshaft and thereafter, study the data created on those basis for every automobile," said Patel.

Principal of the college, Professor M N Patel said, "We encourage students to engage themselves in research work and get their work published in at least two journals of engineering colleges, preferably, outside the state universities." 

Professor Patel said that, it is due to this initiative that students would get persuaded to engage themselves in quality research work, which will enable their work to receive recognition in other universities. 

He said that, Patel's work was just one such example and that there are other students , who are pursuing their post graduate studies and have applied for publication of their research work in other universities.
