Ahmedabad public hands in Road Romeo to the cops

On Thursday night, relatives of a woman handed over an eve teaser from near Atithi restaurant, to Vastrapur police. According to the complaint filed by Tanvi Bhavsar (name changed), she was being verbally harassed by accused Krunal Dave for the last few days.

Tanvi, 29, lives with her husband and son at Parijat bungalow near Pride hotel in Bodakdev, for quite a few years now. She regularly passes from a road opposite to Atithi restaurant, while going to drop and pick her son from tuitions.

According to the complaint, Dave, a resident of Sindhi Sarjan apartment on Anandnagar road in Satellite, used to sit besides the road and harass her. After he once tried to make a pass at her by grabbing her hand, Tanvi decided to teach the Romeo a lesson and noted down the number of his bike.

On Thursday evening at 6:30pm, Dave once again passed a comment on Tanvi when she passed by. She immediately informed some of her relatives about the incident and called them on the spot. Dave was caught by her kin and handed over to the Vastrapur police.

According to RS Damor, PSI at Vastrapur, Dave hails from a reputed family and runs his own business. According to him, the arrest is a first of its kind, from near Atithi restaurant. “We have got information about such activities in and outside the Vastrapur Lake. We will take strict action against all such road romeos” said Damor.
