Cops are still waiting for the post-mortem report of Dhruv Parni (46) who allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself thrice at her Satellite residence late on Saturday night.
The post-mortem report will in all probability prove whether Dhruv pulled the trigger on herself or whether she was shot at, sources said. In absence of any concrete proof, officials have at present ruled out the possibility of Dhruv being murdered. Sources in the department said that the Satellite police will be taking the statements of Dhruv's neighbours.
Sources said that the Parnis had been dealing with martial and financial problems. "Surendra and Dhruv had an inter-caste marriage. Further Surendra had problems with his brother-in-law who had taken a loan from him and failed to repay it," said the source.
The source also said that Surendra was also in debt and his rivals had slapped several cases against him. Joint commissioner of police, JCP, Sector-1, Satish Sharma said we are probing the case and looking at it from all angles.
"We can comment further only after the FSL report and the post-mortem report is made available," said Sharma.
Dhruv sustained three bullet injuries on her body. Interestingly, Dhruv, who reportedly weighed around 140 kg, lived for almost half an hour after she shot herself. Reliable sources said that Surendra had issued some cheques to his clients in his wife's name.
"However, the cheques bounced and the clients filed a case against Dhruv in Banswada, Kishangadh and Bhilwada in Rajasthan and also in Ahmedabad," said the source.
He further said that the couple often had heated arguments over the issue. Sources said that on Saturday night, Dhruv received a summons from a court in Rajasthan. "An upset Dhruv then walked into the guest room and shot herself," said the source.
