The Karnaj police have registered an FIR against advocate Kirti Purabiya on the complaint filed by Pritish Shah, the manager of Manba Finance, Navrangpura.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when Shah along with his brother Ruchir Shah and sister Dhara went to the court to attend hearing in a case.

As soon as Shahs reached the court, Purabiya and his friends approached them and started beating them. Hearing the commotion, some other advocates and police personnel rushed to the spot and rescued Shahs from their assaulters. Pritish, Ruchir and Dhara are admitted at the VS Hospital.

Sources said that on December 2 last year, the Manba Finance had registered a complaint at Sabarmati police station against Kirti Purabiya and few others for allegedly demanding extortion money from the company to settle a case.

Apart from this, an official of Manba Finance had also registered an extortion case against Purabiya at Vatva police station. Sources said Purabiya and his friends were asking Shah to withdraw the case and had even threatened him of dire consequences if he didn't withdraw the case.
