CBI’s special investigation team (SIT), probing the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder, questioned Hemraj’s son-in-law Jeevan on Tuesday on his relationship with the Talwars. This is the first time that SIT has questioned Jeevan.

A CBI team had earlier exonerated the Talwars and accused domestic helps Krishna, Vijay Mandal and Rajkumar of murdering the duo. Now, it appears that SIT is trying to find out the possible motives behind the murder by probing the kind of relationship the family shared with Hemraj.

Jeevan apparently has not been of much help. He has told investigators that he never visited the Talwar household and had no clue about his father-in-law’s relationship with the dentist couple.

CBI officials then asked him about his older brother Vishnu, who had worked at the Talwar house for several years before Hemraj was employed.

Vishnu has been living in Nepal for the past three years. SIT is likely to summon him to assist in the investigations.

Meanwhile, investigators suspect that an “expert” hand was behind the murders.

“Investigations are on. We are exploring all possible angles,” a CBI officer said.
