Around 74 people belonging to two NGOs, the APDR and Bandi Mukti Morcha, who were proceeding towards Lalgarh were detained by the police at Kharagpur.

Around 74 people belonging to two NGOs, the APDR and Bandi Mukti Morcha, who were proceeding towards Lalgarh were detained by the police at Kharagpur, police sources said.
     
The 74 people of APDR and Bandi Mukti Morcha were proceeding towards Lalgarh to demand the lifting of the section 144 Crpc imposed in the area and withdrawal of the joint forces from the area, the sources said.
     
Police detained them at Kharagpur at around 11 am and released them at around 9.30 pm, the sources added.
   
Debaprasad Chattopadhyay, the general secretary of APRDR was among the persons detained by the police.
