65 tourists injured in bus accident in West Bengal

The bus, carrying people of Kanthi in East Midnapore district, first hit a divider near a gurdwara and overturned at about 5.30 am.

Altogether 65 tourists were injured when the bus carrying them overturned at Andal in Burdwan district this morning, the police said.

The bus, carrying people of Kanthi in East Midnapore district, first hit a divider near a gurdwara and overturned at about 5.30 am.

The tourists were returning from a visit to Gaya.

Forty-five passengers were admitted to hospital where the condition of 10 was stated to be serious, the sources said.

The driver of the bus, who was suspected to have fallen asleep causing the accident, fled.
