4 people trapped as AMC seals godown

It was a day of high drama at Vatva after the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) decided to seal some properties for failure to pay the property tax.

As the AMC officials went about sealing shops, four men were allegedly trapped inside a godown of Bombay Delux' company. The company had failed to pay the property tax.

The four later alleged that the AMC officials sealed the main door of the godown without checking for anyone's presence. The AMC officials, meanwhile, claimed it was not their fault.

"We had checked the go-down before sealing it. The four entered the godown through a backdoor and then claimed that they were trapped inside," said chairman of revenue committee Mayur Dave.
He also claimed that when the godown was sealed it had goods stored inside it and the four moved the goods out of the place through the backdoor. A i photographer who visited the godown failed to find a backdoor. Meanwhile, a complaint has been registered at the Vatva police station.
