315 fresh swine flu cases across the country

Swine flu surge in the country continued, with more than 300 people testing positive for the virus today, though no death was reported due to the disease.

A total of 315 fresh cases were reported from across the country during the day, with Delhi topping the list with 167, followed by Haryana (39) and Uttar Pradesh (30). With the fresh cases, the total number of those afflicted by the disease is close to 20,000, the health ministry said.

It said the total number of cases has now reached 19,947, while the number of deaths is 627.

Of the 315 cases reported during the day, four have a history of foreign travels while the rest are indigenous.

Till today, samples of 91,945 people have been tested for swine flu in government laboratories and a few private laboratories across the country, and 21.69% of them have been found positive.
