How about running up the hills on a chilly winter morning? This may definitely make your eyes go wide but such an adventurous run is taking place in Mount Abu this month. Organized by the Ahmedabad Distance Runners (ADR) in association with Brahma Kumaris (BK), the run will be held at Abu on February 19.

The nine-km Abu run will feature many professional runners, and members of ADR, running up the steep road that leads to Mount Abu. Apart from them, members of BK will also participate in the jaunt. Almost 55 people will participate in the event, 30 of whom are from Ahmedabad.

Speaking to DNA about the run, Lihas Trivedi, president of ADR, said, "Since it a tough run, we haven't kept it open for all, only for members of ADR and BK. That apart, several international participants are expected to participate. Many of them are here at this time of the year."

This is the second time that ADR is organizing an Abu run. Stating the reason for organising such a tough run, Trivedi said that ADR wanted to have an audacious run, thus the hill path. "We thought that Abu will be exciting (for the run). Since it is difficult, we have kept a nine-km route," added Trivedi.
