3 jawans killed, 18 others injured in road mishap in Jammu

Jawans of 20 grenadiers were returning to their unit in Jammu city from Chinore firing range at Akhnoor late last night, when their vehicle overturned and rolled into the drain at Paloura area.

Three army jawans were killed and 18 others injured when a vehicle in which they were traveling overturned and rolled into a drain here, police said today.

26 jawans of 20 grenadiers were returning to their unit in Jammu city from Chinore firing range at Akhnoor late last night, when their vehicle overturned and rolled into the drain at Paloura area, killing three of them, they said.

Police said 18 armymen were injured, seven of them seriously, in the mishap.

The BSF and army launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured to government Medical College hospital, Military and BSF hospitals, they added.
