3 die due to sunstroke; toll mounts to 127 in Orissa

Two deaths were reported from Dhenkanal district while one person died in Kendrapara.

With three more deaths, the toll due to suspected sunstroke today mounted to 127 in Orissa, where Sambalpur recorded the maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius.
     
Two deaths were reported from Dhenkanal district while one person died in Kendrapara, officials said.
     
The highest 46.4 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sambalpur followed by 46.1 degrees at Hirakud, 45.8 degrees at Balangir, 45.6 degrees at Jharsuguda and 45 degrees at Titlagarh and Bhawanipatna, Met office here said.
     
The state capital recorded 39 degrees Celsius as against yesterday's 40.1 degrees Celsius.
