Putting up a brave front, Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) today asserted that the second-generation mobile telephony spectrum scam did not bring any disrepute to the party and CBI summoning former telecom minister A Raja was nothing extraordinary.
"The scam has not brought any disrepute to the party," chief minister M Karunanidhi told reporters in Chennai.
To a query on CBI summoning Raja for questioning, the DMK patriarch said it was an "usual practice and nothing extraordinary."
When asked whether the scam had distanced the Congress from DMK, a key UPA ally, Karunanidhi said, "Nobody can cut the relationship between both the parties."
"Our self-respect movement has grown and overcome all such things in the past," he added.
