The CBI today questioned several officials of private telecom companies and telecommunication department in connection with the spectrum allocation scam.

The CBI, which is racing against time to file a chargesheet in the 2G scam before March 31, has already questioned some honchos of telecom firms.

"Some officials of Reliance Communication and Tata among other companies had come for a meeting with the CBI officials. The exercise was undertaken to clear some pending issues," official sources said.

The CBI has to file its chargesheet in the spectrum scam by March 31 in the Supreme Court, which has been monitoring the probe by the agency.

It has arrested four people in the case so far -- former telecom minister Raja, his personal secretary RK Chandolia, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and Shahid Balwa, promoter of DB Realty. All four have been sent to judicial custody by a special CBI court.
