128 candidates for Rajpath Club polls in Ahmedabad

A total of 128 candidates are in the fray for the Rajpath Club election to be held on June 27.

Of the total 170 nominations filed, 29 forms were duplicated, while 13 were termed as invalid.

"The scrutiny committee has termed 13 forms as invalid on the basis of the current norms of the club," said Paresh Dani.

He denied media reports that the club would allow withdrawal of nomination forms two hours prior to the election. "If nomination forms are allowed to be withdrawn two hours prior to the election, how will the ballots be printed," said Dani. He maintained that nominations can be withdrawn two days prior to the election.

NG Patel of Gallops Infrastructure said that he will declare his panel soon. "We will be canvassing on the positive changes that need to be brought in the club in the future," said Patel.

He also said that his focus will be on bringing down the fee and rate to avail the various facilities at the club. "We are not here to make profit but to provide quality service to the members of the club," he said.
