One person was killed and 20 others injured today when their bus hit a tree and fell into a roadside canal at Nandakumar in East Midnapore district.
The police said Bhagirath Sharma, a middle aged person, died on the spot as the bus toppled into the dry canal.
The hired bus coming from Nadia was going to the sea resort town of Digha with the tourists.
The injured people were rushed to local hospitals, sources said.
