West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today expressed grief over the loss of lives in a bus accident in Shimla and extended her sympathies to the bereaved families.
"Extremely saddened at the news of the bus accident in Shimla. My sympathies and condolences with the bereaved families," Banerjee wrote on her Twitter handle today.
Fifteen passengers were killed and nine injured as a bus rolled into a 700-metre deep gorge in Rampur area of Shimla on the Hindustan-Tibet National Highway today.
The bus carrying about 40 persons was on its way from Reckong Peo in Kinnaur to Nauni in Solan.
The NDRF has been rushed to the spot to supervise relief and rescue operations.
