The Yogi Adityanath government suspended a police inspector after his chat accusing police officers of taking money for transfer-posting went viral on social media.

Over WhatsApp, Parushram, SHO Dibai police station, had alleged that money was exchanging hands freely under the Yogi Adityanath government. “Who doesn’t take bribe these days? Even I had to pay Rs 50,000 to the ADG for my transfer from Noida to Bulandshahar and another Rs 3 lakh to the SSP for taking the charge,” alleged the SHO in a chat with a person seeking transfer of another inspector. These chats were done with his official CUG phone number. The chat was posted on social media by someone, where it went viral on Monday.

However, ADG Meerut Prashant Kumar and SSP Bulandshahr have rubbished the SHO’s claims. “I have nothing to do with the WhatsApp chat and transfer-posting in districts. The transfer of the SHO was done by the IG,” clarified the ADG.

“We have placed him under suspension for misuse of his CUG number and ordered a departmental inquiry against him for further action,” said the SSP.

In his conversation with another person for the posting of a sub-inspector to Mandi police station, the SHO advised him to send Rs 50,000 to the clerk in the ADG Camp office with his reference.
