The Congress party on Thursday dubbed the BJP-led NDA Government's foreign policy as "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham" and wondered as to why the ruling dispensation was celebrating its two years in office when the promises made to the nation were yet to be fulfilled.

Leading the Congress' charge, former union minister Kapil Sibal questioned the government's foreign policy with regard to hostile neighbour Pakistan.

"You must have heard the song 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham'. He becomes happy when Nawaz Sharif comes. When you were in opposition, you said the Congress party writes love letters to Pakistan. What are you doing? You are going to their weddings, celebrating birthdays and you are inviting terrorism to Pathankot," he added.

Taunting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sibal said the head of the government must explain through his 'Mann Ki Baat' to the nation as to what took place in the last two years.

The Congress leader sarcastically said the Prime Minister delivers speeches every 45 hours, but never answers a single question.

"I challenge the Modi government and any minister of the government to argue with us and let's ask the nation why you are celebrating. Khuda ke bande sambhal ja, waqt hai ab bhi badal ja (For God's sake mend your ways, there is still time to change)," he said.

The former HRD minister also questioned the performance of the government on the economic front.

"The market used to hover around 8,000 points during the regime of Dr. Manmohan Singh, today it is around 25,600 points. The Sensex has increased, but the value of rupee decreased by 16 percent," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start the two-year anniversary celebrations of the NDA regime on Thursday with a rally in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier tweeted the theme song of the program which highlights various initiatives undertaken by the government as well as the achievements in last two years.
'Transforming India' is the theme of the outreach program of the NDA Government.

On May 27, several ministers will fan out across the country, where they will spend the day participating in public meetings -- with beneficiaries of government schemes and intellectuals, among others.
Meanwhile, preparations are also underway for a massive cultural show at the iconic India Gate on Saturday, which will be attended by celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Prasoon Joshi.
