Tributes paid to soldiers of Battle of Kohima in WW II

Rich tributes were paid today to 1420 valiant soldiers of the Battle of Kohima during the World War 11 in 1944, by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC).

A six-member delegation led by Air Chief Marshall Sir Joe French, remembered the sacrifices of the 1420 British and Indian soldiers in the battle.

The delegation accepted the suggestion of the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Nagaland Himato Zhimomi that a common war memorial of the British and Japanese be erected.
