Aiming at attracting tourists, the Piplyapala Regional Park would host a three-day colourful event ‘Indore Festival’ for attracting tourists from February 14 to 16.
An array of activities including adventure sports, poets’ convention, rock bands, cultural events apart from handicraft fair and cuisine stalls would be there for enthralling the visitors. The event is being organised by the Indore Tourism Promotion Council.
Collector and the council chairman Akash Tripathi convened a meeting of officials from different departments regarding preparations of this festival at tourism office on Wednesday.
The meeting decided that during the three-day event, the Piplyapala Park would host adventure activities like hot balloon ride, horse and camel riding, water jumping, bungee jumping, banana ride, shooting, archery, aero-modelling and others.
During the event, the day’s activities would conclude with cultural events which would be graced by noted artists of the country. A day each would be kept reserved for rock band, cultural presentations and poets’ convention respectively.
The festival would witness a competition among famous rock bands of Indore and the best one would be felicitated by the council. The open air theatre would host the cultural events.
Continuing with the tradition of Malwa, the festival would host a cuisine fest everyday. These events would offer Malwa delicacies to visitors on affordable prices. The meeting on Wednesday decided to invite noted food item manufacturers of the region for being part of the event.
The handicraft fair would also be a prominent part of the festival and would be attended by the noted artisans of the state. The artisans would display various renowned forms of arts including Bherugarh print, Bagh print and others. MN Jamali, secretary of the council, AKVN Indore managing director Manish Singh, CEO district panchayat Ashish Singh, ADM Alok Singh, Addl SP (traffic) Anjana Tiwari and others attended the meeting.
