42-year-old employee of Shirdi Municipal Corporation died of swine flu today in a Mumbai hospital.
Ashok Rambhau Gaikwad, an employee in corporation's water supply department, was suffering from fever, cold, and cough for last ten days and was being treated at a private hospital in Shirdi but was later moved to a Nashik hospital, chief officer, Shirdi Municipality, Dhairyasheel Jadhav said.
His condition deteriorated and was shifted to Mumbai for treatment, where he died today, he said.
A team under district health officer, Ahmednagar has been sent to the Gaikwad's village Kankuri, around 4 kms from here, to screen his family members, neighbours and colleagues, if they are showing any symptoms of the contagious disease, civil surgeon, Ahmednagar civil hospital S M Sonawane said.
