The Khar police are on the verge of wrapping up their investigations in the sensational Sheena Bora murder case, police sources said on Thursday. The probe has also revealed that money could not be the only reason leading to the murder. Insecurity and soured relationship between Indrani and Sheena also played a major role. Later in the day, Indrani Mukerjea's former partner Siddhartha Das also showed up at the Khar police station for recording his statement.

Television honco and Indrani's husband Peter Mukerjea on Thursday underwent a fresh round of questioning. Peter, who was questioned for nearly 12 hours till late Wednesday night in connection with the case, reached Khar police station on Thursday morning. Two hours later, Indrani was also brought to the station. Questioning of Peter for such a long duration for two consecutive days has been baffling, considering that there is no clarity on what the police have been asking from him.

Indrani has reportedly admitted to her involvement in the murder, which she had been denying since her arrest. "Several hours of questioning of Indrani and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna have revealed that she was not having a very healthy relationship with Sheena. Indrani would often pick up arguments with Peter and Rahul, whenever they inquired about Sheena. During the probe, we also observed that Indrani was also feeling insecure due to Sheena," said a police officer.

Dna had, on Thursday, reported about the diaries written by Sheena. Content of the entries by Sheena also indicate about the bitter relationship with Indrani.

A police officer, privy to the investigation, said that the police are almost in the process of wrapping up their probe. "During the course of investigation, we have recorded statement of witnesses, collected materials and technical evidences to bolster our case against the accused persons," said the officer.

On Thursday, several television channels reported that Siddharta Das, former partner of Indrani, who also claimed to be Sheena's biological father, went 'missing' from his Dum Dum residence in Kolkata from evening.

The doors and windows of Das' house remained closed. Das' landlord told media that he had no clue about his whereabouts. Later, in the presence of police personnel, his landlord broke open the door – only to find no one inside. Das' phone also remained switched off.

Ending all speculations, Das showed up at the Khar police station on late Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, the Forensic Science Laboratory at Kalina has started analysing the samples of Sheena and skeletal remains found in adjoining Raigad district to match the DNA and determine if the body was that of Sheena.
