The firebrand Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday made it clear that he is Ram bhakta first and will keep coming to Ayodhya again and again even if anyone has any objections to his visits.

Yogi was on his second visit to the birth-place of Lord Rama in the last 4 months. He was in Ayodhya to pay tribute to Mahant Ramchandra Paramhansdas, the Chairman of Ram Janambhoomi Nyas and one of the main architect of Ram temple movement, on his death anniversary.

Earlier, Yogi Adityanath had visited Ayodhya on May 31, 2017 and had offered prayers at the makeshift temple of Lord Rama and Hanumangarh. He was the first Chief Minister after Kalyan Singh in 1991 who had offered prayers at the makeshift temple.

“I was frequently coming to Ayodhya earlier. I am Ram bhakta first (chief minister later) and I will keep coming to Ayodhya again and again. No one should have any objections to my visit,” he told mediapersons when asked the purpose of his visit. “It is a strange question to be asked. India is known because of Lord Rama who is a symbol of world’s cultural heritage. There are country’s in the world where Ramlila is a national festival. King of Thailand owes his origin to Lord Rama. But still I am being asked why I have come here,” he fired at mediapersons.

However political commentators are attaching much significance to Adityanath's second visit to the birth-place of Lord Rama  as CM on the occasion of  death anniversary of Mahant Ramchandra Paramhansdas.  His successor and present Mahant of Digambar Akhara Mahant Suresh Das is now making an attempt for an out of court settlement for paving way to the construction of grand Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

Suresh Das is believed to be in touch with Iqbal Ansari who succeeded his father late Hashim Ansari, the main plaintiff in Babri mosque-Ramjanambhoomi litigation. Mahant Das has been invited by Yogi Adityanath to Lucknow along with Iqbal to hold talks to explore possibility of working out some out of court settlement over the land dispute between the two communities.

Significantly, Yogi Adityanath  has assured Mahant Das and other seers that he and his government would do anything to fufill the dream of late Mahant of Digambar Akhara. The Chief Minister suggested that talks should be initiated again with the parties involved in the case in the light of the Supreme Court observations and his government would extend all possible support to any such efforts.

“If the ruling BJP did not remove hurdles to begin construction of Ram temple by 2019, sadhus and saints will be free to support any other political party. The party is ruling at the Centre and Uttar Pradesh and we do not see they having any problem in removing hurdles to begin construction,” warned Mahant Das.
