Rajya Sabha nomination not a political move, says Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi

Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi has been in the news in Kerala over the last few weeks  not for his films but for politics. He has been a vocal supporter of the BJP and the party even offered him a ticket. However, the actor did not take up the offer and eventually the ticket was given to cricketer Sreesanth. 

Now, Suresh Gopi has been included in the list of artists to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha. While speaking to media in Kerala, the actor stated that just because his name has been included in the list, it does not mean it is a political move. 

Suresh Gopi added that he became an MP, the first priority would be to save the rivers in Kerala and that he would start his work from Thiruvananthapuram.

Suresh Gopi is the star campaigner for the BJP in the upcoming polls. On Thursday, when reporters asked him questions related to politics, he chose not to answer them.
