PM Narendra Modi asks Congress to reveal ‘Michel mama’ link

In a veiled attack at the Gandhis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday sought an explanation from the Congress over their “links” with AgustaWestland middleman Christian Michel. 

The PM’s jibe comes a day after Rahul Gandhi’s Rafale allegations against PM Modi. “Congress leaders are making noise now but they should explain to everyone about their relationship with Michel mama? Shouldn’t they given an answer? Shouldn’t the chowkidar ask them about it,” PM Modi said at a rally in Solapur without taking any names.

Michel, a British national, was arrested in the UAE and extradited to India on December 4, 2018. He is accused of bribing Indian politicians and officials in the VVIP chopper deal. The PM also accused Gandhi of insulting Nirmala Sitharaman and the womenfolk of the country.
