Lauding BRICS as a grouping, PM said, "We have to talk in one voice for the interest of developing nations in the United Nations and other multilateral organizations. This is the reason we have come together for BRICS.
Last year's informal BRICS meet on the sidelines of 12th G20 summit in Hamburg helped India and China break ice after Doklam controversy. Indian PM and Chinese President had met on the sidelines of the BRICS informal meet.
This is the fourth meeting between the two leaders this year. PM said, "This has been a good year for bilateral ties". Recalling Wuhan informal summit, PM said, "it was a milestone and engagement between the 2 countries got new momentum."
The two leaders have met twice after their informal summit in the Chinese city of Wuhan in April -- once at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held in June in China's Qingdao and the second time at the BRICS summit in South Africa's Johannesburg in July.
Recalling his meeting with the Chinese President, PM hoped the momentum in ties would continue.
