Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of Delhi polls and discussed the political situation in Bihar at a meeting with top BJP leaders at his residence this evening.

BJP President Amit Shah and senior Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari, besides party general secretary (Organisation) Ram Lal attended the meeting. Sources said Modi took stock of the polling pattern in Delhi assembly polls and discussed the party's prospects.

BJP is confident of bagging a majority to form its government in Delhi, after a high-decibel campaign in the national capital where the Prime Minister addressed four rallies and the party put in all its might to take on Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party. Modi is also learnt to have discussed the emerging political situation in Bihar where the party is keen to wrest power.

The meeting with the Prime Minister came soon after Amit Shah held discussions with party leaders from Bihar at his residence. BJP leaders say they are keeping a close watch on the political developments in Bihar where Nitish Kumar has been elected as the JD-U Legislature Party leader, replacing Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
