Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe laid the foundation stone for India's first bullet train project on Thursday at a ceremony near the Sabarmati Railway Station in Gujarat. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, on day 2 of his visit to India said: PM Modi and I will work towards realising 'Jai Japan- Jai India'. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude towards Japan by saying: Thank my friend Shinzo Abe, he took a personal interest and assured that there should be no glitches in the project. Here're other important statements made by Narendra Modi:

1. Travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will come down to 2 hrs, almost the hour it takes to reach the airport: PM Modi
