Nagpur is one of the Lok Sabha Constituencies that went to vote in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha 2019.

Constituency Profile
One of Maharashtra’s most high-profile constituencies which also houses the headquarters of RSS, will see high profile candidate Nitin Gadkari do battle with former BJP MP and current Congress candidate Nana Patole.

The battle will be even more keenly watched with BJP heavyweight Nitin Gadkari in the mix. Nanabhai Patole has been gunning for Gadkari, claiming his name came in the Yeddyurappa diaries, which has been called a forgery by the IT Department.
Patole (then a BJP candidate) had beaten Praful Patel by a huge margin in Bhandara-Gondiya beating Praful Patel in NCP but later swapped saffron for Congress colour.
The seat was won by Congress between 1998 and 2009 before Nitin Gadkari wrested in 2014 with a ginormous margin of 2.84 lakh votes.
In 2014, BJP and Shiv Sena won 23 and 18 seats respectively. The Congress just got two while the NCP won 4 and Swabhimani Paksha got 1. In 2019, the BJP and Sena alliance is set to take on the Congress-NCP alliance.
