Mumbai: Education dept orders inquiry against Robert Money School

Robert Money School, last moth, had decided to shift around 34 students to some other school.

After complaints from parents and teachers of , the deputy director of school education BB Chavan has ordered an inquiry into the matter.

Last month, Robert Money School decided to shift as many as 34 students to another school in order to shut shop. The school in 2013 had shut down their junior college and also terminated the teachers. According to parents, the school management gradually started shutting the primary section and this year the management decided to shut from the secondary section — Std VI to IX.

The parents were forcefully being handed over the leaving certificate on the report card day by the school that angered many parents. Following this, many approached the local police as well as the deputy director of school education office.

The parents and teachers also lodged a complaint at Christian Reform United People Association (CRUPA), which also wrote a letter to police and education department to take necessary action. BJP MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha also requested the education minister to look into the matter as it falls in his constituency.

Thus, Chavan wrote a letter to education inspector of south zone education department on May 4. The letter stated that since the school is shut illegally and is forcefully issuing the LC to the students, it is requested to make an inquiry and take appropriate action. The south zone education inspector has also been said to send a detailed report to the deputy director's office.
