Czech Republic Prime Minister Andrej Babis was all praise for his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and called 'Make In India' initiative a good strategy. "Initiatives like Make in India can improve bilateral ties between both the countries," Babis said.
Babis, who was in Pune to launch the Symbiosis Centre for European Studies at the Symbiosis International Deemed University's Vimannagar campus, said he stated that there is a lot of scope for trade between both the countries.
"Your Prime Minister and your country have a good strategy which is 'Make in India'. In order to make relations of both countries better, we need Czech companies coming here and invest," he told the audience, which mainly constituted of the students.
Before launching the programme at the institute, Babis visited the industrial area of Chakan where he attended the inaugural ceremony of New Technology Centre by Czech car maker Skoda Auto and Volkswagen Group at its Chakan manufacturing plant.
Referring to the new technology centre, Babis said, "This is the way we can succeed to grow our bilateral trade. India ranks number four in Asia and it has great potential and therefore we are here to boost the relations."
Babis also stated that he would be pitching for a direct flight between Delhi and Prague during his meeting with the President of India Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi. "Thousands of visitors from India visit Prague and a direct flight between Delhi and Prague will help in developing tourism," he said.
Before visiting Pune, Babis also attended the inaugural ceremony of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit on Friday.
