"Shiv Sainiks are our real power, and on the basis of their strength we will win the ‘Mahabharat’ of Maharashtra", said an editorial published in the "Saamna", the official mouthpiece of the party, on Thursday.

In an editorial written on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of Shiv Sena, party chief Uddhav Thackeray said that the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra would be of the Sena. It believes the centre has got a strong Prime Minister like Narendra Modi and now it’s time to flag off saffron in the state.  The editorial says: “During the Lok Sabha Elections, Narendra Modi single handedly won the requisite majority, in the same way citizens want saffron to come to power under the Sena’s leadership. Shivsena is a huge 'family'. But here no one fights for property or power. Those who fought for selfishness and left Sena were wiped out immediately”.

The Editorial also claims:”Shiv Sena has always been openly challenged, either by Congress or NCP, but we have always accepted those challenges. MLAs, ministers are not our real power, rather Shiv-Sainiks are our strength, and it’s our promise that the next Chief Minister will be from the Sena." Meanwhile, Sena leaders demanded that Thackeray be declared the CM candidate at the two-day party conclave that would end in Bandra on Thursday which is the party's foundation day.
