Fine dining often pushes the limits by enticing diners with exotic ingredients and locales. Ludhiana isn’t really the first place that would cross one’s mind when it comes to either of these factors. Until now that is — created by four cousins, the aptly-named “Hawai Adda” is an airplane-themed restaurant that is quite literally situated in an airplane.

The craft itself is permanently anchored to terra firma, but clearly aims to impart an unique experience to diners. This aircraft which was in active service with Air India can accommodate up to 72 diners. While the aircraft was originally junked after flying its rated number of miles, it was brought piecemeal to Ludhiana from Delhi, requiring a team of engineers to assemble the craft together and repurpose it as a restaurant — a process that took about four months.

This unusually-themed restaurant dishes out only vegetarian food, and is bound to be better than those styrofoam packages doled out during a Delhi-Mumbai flight.
