Lokpal fulfils age-old aspiration: Congress

Congress today claimed it had fulfilled an age-old aspiration of the people by ensuring the passage of the Lokpal bill in Parliament.

"Both Sonia and Rahul ji have fulfilled an age-old aspiration of the people by bringing the Lokpal bill. Even Anna Hazare had to thank them for its passage. Even in the future, it is the Congress which will fulfil the aspirations of the people of this country," AICC secretary in charge of party affairs in the state Sanjay Kapoor said, addressing a meeting of party workers here.

He said suitable appointments to all vacant posts in the party's state unit will soon be made.

PCC chief Yashpal Arya who has already resigned from his post and its spokesman Dhirendra Pratap shared the dais with the leader who was addressing workers of the party town and district units.

Accusing BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi of trying to take the country for a ride, Kapoor sounded a note of caution asking people to listen to him critically and to not accept all that he says on their face value.
