Students studying in Uttar Pradesh government institutes may soon get a free education up to Post Graduation.

"The state government is planning to give free education to students from 'KG to PG' (kindergarten to post graduation) in government institutions," said deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma.

The minister was speaking while addressing students during the convocation ceremony of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, reported Times of India.

"We are trying to start KG to PG scheme in a few cities from the next academic session," said Sharma who is also higher and secondary education minister

He also said that they are focusing to introduce courses like GST which will lead to employment.

"We have decided to reduce exam schedule for both UP board and degree colleges. The UP board exams will be held as usual in February, while we will declare the exam date for degree colleges and universities this month," he added.
