Buffalo meat on Wednesday was back on the menu of Kerala House's Samridhi restaurant. Even though the food items earlier named as beef curry and beef fry were renamed as meat curry and meat fry, customers queued to finish the stock. A day after staffers at a Kerala House restaurant refused to serve certain food items to its customers, nearly 10 kilogram of buffalo meat was sold within the first hour of the lunch being served.

Staffers here told dna that 15 kgs of meat is purchased on daily basis from government authorised shops out of which half is served during the lunch and the rest is stored for dinner.

"We had to use two-and-a-half kilogram of the total stock we store for dinner. I think people who don't eat buffalo meat started to do so from today," said a staffer jokingly.

"I have been told nearly 150 customers ordered meat curry and meat fry. That number is quite telling," said KJ Joseph the Protocol Officer at Kerala House.

On Monday acting, on a complaint from a right-wing group, Delhi Police had entered the premises of Kerala House and quizzed restaurant staffers whether they were serving cow meat. There complaint was made by chief of Hindu Sena, Vishnu Gupta who was on Wednesday arrested by police and booked under section 107 and 151 of the Indian Penal Code.

Coming under fire from all corners Delhi Police on Wednesday first detained the Hindu Sena Chief.

Delhi Police also submitted it's report to the MHA on the alleged raid. Police in their report have maintained that cops entering the Kerala House was not a raid and the staff members of the canteen were briefed to remain alert and inform the police in case of any issue or vandalism.

Even though the law and order situation here has not been effected by the incident on Monday, companies of Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force continue to keep a vigil outside the Kerala House.

A senior police officer told dna that the officials posted outside Kerala House have been told to take immediate action against anyone threatening peace and tranquility of the area.

Later in the evening more than 50 Keralites held a demonstration outside the Kerala House and raised anti-BJP and anti-Delhi Police slogans. The protestors accused BJP of furthering their 'communal agenda' and blamed the party for polarising the country.

It is a closed matter: Bassi
Delhi police commissioner B S Bassi, who ostensibly had come to brief union home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi on action taken by Delhi Police in the case of Kerala Bhawan, said that the Delhi police officials have also been instructed not to enter any state bhawans and sort out any matter with the resident commissioners of the state bhawans. Bassi added that the matter is closed as far as the Kerala Bhawan matter is concerned.
