J&K: Two ministers resign from Mehbooba Mufti's Cabinet

Syed Basharat Bukhari and Imran Raza Ansari have submitted their resignations.

Syed Basharat Bukhari on Friday resigned from the Cabinet of Mehbooba Mufti soon after he was shifted from high profile Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Ministry to Horticulture department.

"I have resigned from the council of Ministers today. I have forwarded the letter of resignation to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti tonight", Bukhari said from Srinagar. He said he has given all the reasons for his resignation in a letter to CM. 

Minister Imran Raza Ansari has also submitted his resignation to CM Mehbooba Mufti, ANI reported.

Earlier in the day, Syed Altaf Bukhari was inducted in council of Ministers in Mehbooba Mufti led Government as new Minister for Education.

Naeem Akhtar, who held Education portfolio, was given high profile Public Works Department (PWD).

Abdul Rehman Veeri, who was PWD minister, has been assigned the charge of Ministry of Revenue, Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction and Parliamentary Affairs, an official spokesman said.

Haseeb A Drabu, Minister for Finance and Labour and Employment, has been divested of the portfolio of Culture. The charge of the Department of Culture shall remain with the Chief Minister, the spokesman said.
