Confirming 'no delay' in the deportation of underworld don Chhota Rajan, India's ambassador to Indonesia Gurjit Singh on Friday said he could not confirm or deny whether there would be deportation or not.

"There is no delay in anything, it is just a perception. We are having a procedure to follow. These procedures are to be decided by relevant agencies in India, so we are going to follow whatever directions we are given. My embassy and consulate in Bali are ready to implement those directions," Singh told ANI.

"Once a decision is taken on what procedures are to be followed, and consultations are complete, which are now underway, we will take the necessary procedures and go ahead," he said.

"The existence of an agreement or lack of it has not hindered cooperation with Indonesia in the past and don't expect to do so now," he added.

CBI director Anil Sinha, however, said, "We tracked Chhota Rajan's movements closely and informed the police in Indonesia and Australia. Eventually, the Indonesian police managed to arrest him. We are making arrangements to bring him to India, and pursue all criminal cases against him."

Rajan, one of India's most wanted criminals and a leading figure in the Mumbai underworld, was arrested at Bali in Indonesia on Sunday. Rajan is wanted for at least 68 cases in Mumbai alone, including over 20 murder cases and other serious offences under MCOCA, POTA and the Arms Act.
