The Hindu Yuva Vahini activists staged a protest against veteran actor Anupam Kher in Gorakhpur on Friday for his remarks against BJP MP Yogi Adityanath. The protestors, who burnt Kher's effigy, said critical comments for the Gorakhpur MP would not be tolerated.

One of the protestors said that those who talk of putting Yogi Adityanath behind bars would not be forgiven. During a discussion on 'growing intolerance' on March 6, Kher had said that 'Yogi' and 'Sadhvi' who make irrational and nonsense comments should be thrown out of the party. The BJP MP from Gorakhpur later responded and said Kher is a 'real life villain'.

"I thank him for his goodwill but he has proved that he is not only a villain in reel-life but also a villain in real life," he said.
