With the Lok Sabha 2014 elections just a few months away, Congress has started with their promotion to get connected with the massess. On January 24, 2014 on their Youtube page, they launched its video promoting the party and its Vice President Rahul Gandhi's 'Yuva Shakti' motto.
This advert features a girl seen promoting the young Gandhi scion's ideology of approaching the youngsters of the nation to come together and work for the betterment of the nation. The advert also highlights the party's anti-corruption stand.
This video has gone viral and people are now very curious to know more about who the girl in the advert is.
Meet Hasiba B Amin, Congress party's students' wing National Student Union of India's (NSUI) State President from Goa, who has gained instant fame with the ad. Hasiba who aggressively promotes "kattar soch nahi, yuva soch" (Not fanaticism but youthfulness), is quite a popular name on social media with 3,534 followers on Twitter and has 3,332 followers on Facebook.
However, there have been some reports claiming Hasiba of being involved in Rs 300 cr scam with the ex-Goa PWD minister and was behind bars. Another accusation against her is that when she became the Goa NSUI president in 2002 she asked for the expulsion of the then Goa NSUI vice-president, who had alleged that the drug mafia in the state enjoyed the patronage of some Congress ministers.
Hasiba was also the one who filed a police complaint against Madhu Kishwar for revealing Tehelka journalist's name on Twitter.
After these revelations, Hasiba has become a center of a raging controversy on Twitter after her 'ceredentials' came under doubt.
