After being banned from performing in Mumbai by the Shiv Sena, Ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali has agreed to do a concert in the national capital in December.

"Ghulam Ali sir, I am a big fan of yours. It was great talking to you. Thanks for agreeing to do a program in Delhi in Dec,"Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.

A day after Ghulam Ali's programme was called off in Mumbai amidst threat of protest from Shiv Sena, AAP Minister Kapil Mishra had reached out to Ghulam Ali urging him to perform his concert in Delhi. Today, Mishra also met Ghulam Ali and the noted singer confirmed about a possible concert in December.

The Shiv Sena had earlier defended banning the Pakistani singer from performing in Maharashtra, saying what they had done was in true spirit of patriotism. The Shiv Sena also slammed Kejriwal for inviting the singer to perform in the national capital, accusing him of doing 'vote bank politics'.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee too has urged Ghulam Ali to perform in her state and the singer has consented, tweeted TMC spokersperson Derek O'Brian.  After the controversy broke, Ghulam Ali said that he will continue to perform in India.
