With eleven more persons succumbing to swine flu in parts of Rajasthan in the last 24 hours, the death toll has climbed to 92 in the state this year. Out of the 897 people tested positive for the H1N1 virus, 92 have died in the state from January 1 to February 7, an official of the state medical and health directorate (MHD) said.

Meanwhile, Union Health Minister J P Nadda, who inaugurated the deworming programme, reviewed the swine flu situation in the state. Expressing his satisfaction on the prevention and cure of the deadly disease, Nadda laid emphasis on strengthening the awareness campaign in the state.
In his meeting with Rajasthan Medical and Health minister R S Rathor and medical officials, the union minister assured that the Centre would provide all assistance to the state and national experts' group would be sent to supervise swine flu treatment and prevention in the districts of the state, according to an official spokesman.
Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister Rathor however, stressed the need to raise funds from Rs 2,100 crore under National Health Mission on the state's geographic and nature's adverse circumstances, the spokesman said.
Out of 33 districts in Rajasthan, 29 are affected with swine flu. Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Sirohi and Baran were reported to be safe as per the MHD records, the directorate official said. So far, Ajmer and Jaipur have recorded the maximum number of deaths due to swine flu at 19 each, followed by Nagaur 7, Barmer and Chittorgarh 6 each, Banswara 5, Tonk, Bikaner, Kota four each, Jodhpur 3, Bhilwara, Duasa, Pali, Bundi, Udaipur 2 each, Ganganagar, Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Jaisalmer, and Dungarpur one each.
