Documents show Vasundhara Raje backed Lalit Modi's immigration application into UK?

In a new twist to the Sushma Swaraj-Lalit Modi controversy, a prominent news channel has revealed that Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje backed the former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi's UK immigration application on the condition that her support was not made known to Indian authorities.

The channel claimed that the letter was part of the documents that were mailed to news channels on Monday night by a PR firm engaged by Lalit Modi's lawyer Mehmood Abdi.

Interestingly, there are no signatures of Vasundhara Raje on the papers showed by the channel. The channel said the documents were provided by Lalit Modi's lawyers, and hence only they can vouch for their authenticity.

On Monday, Abdi had held a press conference in Mumbai to clear Lalit Modi's name.

He had showed some papers to prove how the UPA government had removed Lalit Modi's security. He claimed this forced Modi to leave the country for UK.
