Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that the Centre would not rule out more surgical strikes in Pakistan-controlled territory.  “Pakistan is our neighbour. If it changes for good, we may not need such a step again. But if terror organisations or others target India, we can’t guarantee that surgical strike will not be repeated,” Singh told News18.

Rajnath Singh also called the house arrest of LeT's Hafiz Saeed an 'eyewash'.  He said that Pakistan should charge Saeed and arrest him if they were serious about taking action.

He also spoke about Dawood Ibrahim saying that the government would be successful in getting the underworld don to India.

Singh spoke about China blocking India's bid in the United Nations to list Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a terrorist. “Maybe China did not support us because of their own internal deliberations," he said.

On US President Donald Trump's recent immigration ban, the Home Minister said that the action was probably taken after "assessing the local terror situation".

He also sounded positive about BJP's chances at the UP elections, saying the party would win 250 of the 403 seats. He also ruled out being the CM of the state saying, “I am already the home minister, it would be injustice if others are not given a chance,” he said. He added that the party's poll campaign without a CM candidate would not harm its chances in the elections.
